Dakon stood at the base of the grand white tower. He looked up at it, seeing it pass past the clouds. He took a deep breath and gripped the base of it, ready to make the long climb up. His training with roshi had made his muscles stronger and more resilient. He pulled himself up more, continuing his climb.
Dakon was still climbing. It'd been nearly an hour and he'd made what seemed to him like no progress. He gripped and pulled, gripped and pulled. Continuing the long climb up. His body was a little tired but he was determined to make his way up. He kept climbing, but he looked down. He'd made progress! Quite a bit, it seemed. "Thanks sensei..." Dakon said, quietly thanking roshi.
He kept climbing, he could see some kind of a ledge now but it was a ways off. He was exhausted now, but through force of will he kept climbing. He grunted and climbed faster, forcing himself to reach the ledge. He was going to do this, no matter what.
He'd done it! He'd climbed the tower! He was very tired but he had wanted to do this. He pulled himself up to the ledge and lied on his back. He panted and wiped his brow, but was smiling. Though this was hard he knew this experience had made him stronger. Tired, he passed out.
